Beginning this Monday, downtown businesses are holding a $500 Easter Egg Hunt.
After 9 a.m. each morning from Monday, March 22 to Friday, March 26, egg hunters can pick up a clue to the location of the egg at participating businesses.
Participating businesses are Bank of Brewton, BankTrust, Book and Bean, BOSSCO, The Brewton Standard, Cannon's Carpets, Cracked Pot/Paris Market, English Realty, First Progressive, McMillan-Wingate, Milligan's, The Garden Gate, The Hourglass, The Treasure Chest, Tomato Cafe and Weaver's.
The northern boundary for the hunt will be First Progressive and First Presbyterian Church.
The egg may be hidden on public or private property anywhere from there to the foot of Murder Creek Bridge and Sherer Bros., except for on Hwy. 31 and Hwy. 41, for safety reasons.
The western boundary is Persimmon Street. No digging will be required to find the egg.
This will be the first Easter egg hunt organized by downtown businesses, but business owners will continue planning holiday activities.
