Many of us made New Year's Resolutions this past January which involved eating better as part of an overall fitness program. And, unfortunately, many of us fell flat on our faces with that one.
That's the way it goes sometimes. The dawn of a new year makes everything seem possible, well within reach. But a few months later and we're back to same old habits. Well, if you fit into this category, the month of March may offer a good second chance in the motivation department, at least if constant reminders help you there.
March is National Nutrition Month, during which we're all encouraged to take a look at our diet and lifestyle with an eye toward making adjustments for the better. The Standard ran an excellent column last edition by Extension Agent Carolyn Bivins on things to keep in mind when looking to improve dietary habits, and there are countless resources in print and online to help us all in making better choices.
We like to try and practice what we preach at The Standard…so we're not going to get too preachy here. But we can all use a reminder now and then about developing habits that involve eating right, and National Nutrition Month has arrived at just the right time.
