Mr. James Walter "Pookie" Lee, 62, died Monday, April 19, 2004 in a Pensacola nursing facility. He was a native and life-long resident of the Flomaton community and was retired from Hendrix Tractor Company. He was of the Baptist faith, and was preceded in death by his father, Dick Lee; a son, James Walter Lee Jr. and a daughter, Debra Darlene Hurtt.
He is survived by his mother, Mazie Golden Lee of Flomaton; a son, Michael Howington of Milton, Fla.; two brothers, Jerry Lee of Brewton and Wayne Lee of Robertsdale; a sister, Shelia Holt of Flomaton and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 21, at 2 p.m. with Rev. James Pugh officiating. Burial followed at Little Escambia Cemetery with Flomaton Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Doug Gatwood, Robert Holt, Terry Powell, Kenny Higdon, Billy Byrd and Jack Knowles.
