JDCC girls open Region 22 Tourney Thursday

By Staff
The Jefferson Davis Community College Lady Warhawks softball team drew a first-round matchup against Bevill State in Thursday's opening round of the Region 22 Tournament.
JDCC (20-33 overall) qualified for the tournament with a third place finish in the south half of the Alabama Community College Conference standings with an 11-9 record. Bevill State finished second in the north division.
If the Lady Warhawks win their opening round, they would most likely draw a matchup against ACCC regular season champ Wallace-Dothan Friday at 9 a.m. Wallace-Dothan is the number one seed from the south division.
A loss in the opening round would send the Lady Warhawks to the elimination round where they would play again Thursday at 7 p.m.
Central Alabama is the host school for the tournament although the event is actually being played at the Alexander City Park.
