Just another reminder that Brewton and East Brewton residents -- as well as any Escambia Countians interested in attending -- will have a chance to meet candidates for local office this Tuesday morning.
The Greater Brewton Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting Coffee &the Candidates Tuesday, May 11, from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. at The Tomato Cafe in downtown Brewton. Attendees will have the opportunity to listen to candidates speak, and to ask them questions -- written questions from audience members will be accepted during the event.
There will also be free coffee and muffins, so no one needs to let fear of missing breakfast get in the way becoming better informed about their choices for office.
The event -- which is being sponsored by Bank of Brewton, BankTrust, First Progressive Bank and Regions Bank -- will be among the first organized opportunities for people to come out and hear what candidates for DA, county commission and judge have to say about issues facing our communities.
We encourage everyone who can to pencil this event into their calendar for Tuesday, and take this opportunity to learn more about the people we'll soon be voting for.
