Braves clinch top spot in Brewton 9-10

The Braves (9-2, 10-4) clinched the top spot in the Brewton Age 9-10 regular season standings with a pair of league wins last week.
The Athletics (6-5, 6-7) have clinched the number two spot, but the position for the third and final qualifying spot for the upcoming City Tournament remains a mystery. The Cardinals (4-7, 5-9) hold a one-game lead over the Dodgers (3-8, 3-10) headed into the final week of regular season play.
Braves (EB) 16, Athletics (B) 3
The East Brewton Braves lashed out nine hits in the interleague win.
Joshua Thompkins, who pitched a two-hitter, had a single, a double and two runs scored for the Braves. Dalton Evans had a triple and scored twice. Jacob Southwell scored two runs. Keith Bradley had a double, a triple and three runs scored. Hayden Cooper had two singles and scored three runs. Brent Blackwell and Billy Strength both had a single.
The Athletics were limited to a single and two runs scored by Caleb Hubbard and a single by Louis Miller.
Athletics (EB) 7, Dodgers (B) 6
The Athletics only had three hits, but that was enough to beat the Dodgers in other interleague game.
Brewer Grimes had two of the hits for the Athletics, both singles, and scored two runs. Loagn Williamson, who was the winning pitcher, had the other hit, also a single.
The Dodgers got a single, a homer, two RBIs and two runs scored from Kameron Winn. Kori Jackson, Caleb Stewart and Sam Smith all had a single with a run scored.
Braves 11, Athletics 1
The Braves clinched the top spot in the Brewton Age 9-10 standings with their victory over the Athletics.
Conner Denton had a big game for the Braves with two doubles, a triple, two RBIs and two runs scored. Christian Purvis had two singles and scored three runs. Josh Maloy had a single and drove in two runs. Brett Smith and Tyler Etheridge both scored two runs.
The Athletics got a pair of singles from Louis Miller. Collin Graves had a triple and an RBI. Logan Ingram had a single.
Denton tossed a four-hitter and struck out 12 to get the win.
Cardinals 13, Dodgers 5
Wesley Maddox and Kevin Davis combined on a three-hitter to lead the Cardinals to victory.
Shawn Odom paced the Cardinals' offense with two singles, a double, four RBIs and two runs scored. Hunter Hanks and Aaron Yuhasz both had a single and two runs scored. Rickey Curry and Maddox both had a single. Ben Cooper and Austin Graddy both scored two runs.
Jacob Fillmore, Parker Reiss and Kameron Winn all had a single for the Dodgers.
Reiss (eight) and Winn (three) combined for 11 strikeouts in a losing cause for the Dodgers.
Braves 11, Dodgers 10
The Braves needed seven innings to take the slugfest decision from the Dodgers.
Randy Davis had two doubles, three RBIs and three runs scored to pace the Braves. Conner Denton had a single, two RBIs and two runs scored. Christian Purvis had a triple and scored two runs. Rob Stokes had a single and scored twice. Tyler Etheridge had a double and an RBI.
The Dodgers got a pair of hits, two RBIs and two runs scored from Parker Reiss. Tyler Dehoff had a triple and scored twice. Ryan Etheredge had a single and scored twice. Kameron Winn scored three runs. Jacob Fillmore had a single.
Purvis worked the final four innings and got the win for the Braves. He struck out six and allowed two hits.
Athletics 11, Cardinals 10
The Athletics overcame a 9-1 deficit in their win over the Cardinls.
Louis Miller had a single, a double and scored two runs for the Athletics. Alec Robinson had a single and scored twice.
The Cardinals got a single and three runs scored by Shawn Odom. Landon Kirkland had a double. Wesley Maddox had a single. Ricky Curry scored twice.
Collin Graves was the winning Athletics hurler, as he struck out six in three innings.
