Mr. Johnny Ray Madison Sr., 43, died Sunday, May 30, 2004 in a Foley hospital. He was a native of Escambia County, Fla. and a resident of Century for many years. He worked as a construction worker for 18 years with Amerson Roofing in Atmore. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Henry and Rosa Carrie Bell Madison and his grandparents, Bishop Walter and Lillie Bell Mitchell.
He is survived by two daughters, Shenekia Brooks of Atmore and Geneva Madison of New York City; four sons, Johnny Ray Madison Jr. of Century and Kendrell Monta Madison, Antywon Lavon Madison and Rayvon Desha Madison, all of Atmore; two sisters, Bessie Newton and Clara Jones, both of Pensacola, Fla.; nine brothers, John Henry Madison Jr., John Wesley Madison, John Edward Madison, Aarron Madison and Christiful Madison, all of Century, Perry Madison of Pensacola, Eddie Madison of Loduwici, Ga., Nathaniel Madison of Ft. Goldom, Ga. and John Andrew Madison of Atmore and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, June 3, at 1 p.m. at Pilgrim Lodge Baptist Church in Century with Bishop Robert Grissett officiating. Burial followed at Century Cemetery with Turner Funeral Chapel directing. Pallbearers were friends and family members.
