Last Saturday the Sportsman's Club sponsored a three-on-three basketball tournament at Burnt Corn Creek Park.
Lorenzo Jones, who organized the tourny, said everything ran with out a hitch. Although the rain tried to put a damper on things, it didn't stop them.
The tournament started at 11 that morning and they didn't wrap things up and hand out the trophies until about 4:30 that afternoon. The tournament had a men's division and a women's division.
Playing on the first place adult men's team were Greg McCall, Andrew Lambeth, Mandell Smith and Darryl Cohen. Eighteen and under men's winners were Wade Jackson, Allen Hodges and Darius Cabres. Finally, the winning boy's team was Lateysia Montgonery, Jalen Jones and Kyle Stallworth.
As for the women, Natasha Boykin, Kanisha Redburn and Brittany Watson took first place in the 15 and under division, while Ashley Samuel, Krystal Smith, Kansha Lane and Jasmine Samford were the 18 and under winning team. This is the first year for the tourny, and Jones says they will definitely be doing it again next year.
