Maxwell Leroy Morris

Mr. Maxwell Leroy Morris, 73, died Sunday, June 6, 2004 at East Brewton residence. He was a native of Escambia County, Ala. and returned to this area in 1972 following retirement from the U.S. Army. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and was a member of Cedar Hill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Selina F. Morris; a daughter, Patricia Morris and a brother, Son Morris.
He is survived by three daughters, Maxine Brooks, Janice Wilson and Carol McCurdy, all of East Brewton; two brothers, James Morris of Brewton and Marshall Morris of Castleberry; two sisters, Vera Alford and Jeanie Normand, both of Brewton; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 8, at 10 a.m. at Craver's Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Thomas White officiating. Burial followed at Union Cemetery with Craver's Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Danny Mack Brooks, Casey Stewart, Norman Morris, Nicholas Normand, Richard Thompson and Bill Thompson. Honorary pallbearers were Royce Layton, Floyd Grice, Gene Hoffman and Lawrence Smith.
