Sheriff's Office snags fugitive Brewton man

Early Saturday morning, the Escambia County Sheriff's Office was called to a residence in the Keego community around 8 a.m. in regards to an unwanted person refusing to leave the residence.
When the caller informed the Sheriff's Office of who the person was, employees immediately knew that he was wanted on prior charges. Deputy Dale Leggett responded, and the white male fled the residence in his truck at a high rate of speed as the deputy pulled in the driveway.
Deputy Matt Shelton located the man and pursued him on Wolflog Road.
The vehicle chase continued on Sardine Road to Foshee Road.
The fleeing white male continued in a field off of Dogwood Road behind the Pineview Volunteer Fire Department until his truck was stuck.
The Alabama Department of Corrections K-9 tracking team was immediately called as the violator fled on foot into the woods.
Captain Mickey Mustin and Sgt. Donnie Macks responded with their beagles and the violator was captured a short time later.
The violator captured was Jason Kirk of Brewton. According to Murphy, Jason was charged for the following crimes: violation of probation; theft of property, second degree; reckless endangerment; harassment; domestic violence, third degree (assault); domestic violence, third degree (reckless endangerment); and domestic violence, third degree (harassment).
