Atmore 11, Brewton 10
Brewton suffered its lone loss along the tournament trail in disappointing fashion against Atmore.
Up 5-0 after two innings and 10-3 after four innings, Atmore stunned Brewton with an eight-run sixth inning to net the win.
Atmore scored all 11 of its runs after two-out Brewton errors.
Baxley Raines had four hits and five RBIs in a losing cause for Brewton.
Brewton 17, South Monroe 0
Allen Williams and Becker Denton combined on a no-hitter with 11 strikeouts, as Bretwon ambushed South Monroe to stay alive in the tournament.
Brewton needed just four and one-half innings to net the win, as it broke loose for five runs in the opening frame and 10 more in the second inning.
Jared Cooper provided the muscle for the victory with a single, a double, a homer and six RBIs.
Denton helped his cause on the mound with a single and two doubles.
Brewton 4, Atmore 2
Brewton avenged its lone loss in tournament action, as it rallied to beat Atmore 4-2.
Brewton overcame a 2-1 deficit in the bottom of the fourth inning on an RBI double by Becker Denton. Jared Cooper started a decisive two-run fifth inning with another two-bag hit.
Mackie Jackson went the distance on a five-hitter and struck out six for the win.
Brewton 13, Monroeville 2
Brewton went into the championship round in need of two wins against Monroeville to win the title.
It made sure a second championship game would be necessary with an easy 13-2, five-inning win in the opener.
Brewton built a 10-0 lead in the first two innings sparked by a three-run homer by Jared Cooper. Tanner Shehan provided two hits in a six-run second inning.
Allen Williams coasted to victory on the mound with a five-hitter.
Brewton 9, Monroeville 5
Mother Nature played a role in the decisive championship game. Monroeville had a 5-4 lead after three innings when play was suspended due to lightning and rain.
Once play resumed the next day, Brewton responded with five unanswered runs to claim the title.
Jared Cooper snapped a 5-5 tie in the sixth inning when his sacrifice fly drove in Becker Denton.
Mackie Jackson threw four shutout innings of relief on the second day of play to get the win.
Area Tournament
Brewton 9, Andalusia 3
Brewton began Area Tournament play on a good note when it cruised past Andalusia 9-3.
Brewton built a 9-0 lead through its first six at bats thanks largely to a two-run single by Becker Denton in the fourth inning and and a pair of RBIs by Jared Cooper through a single and sacrifice fly.
Baxley Raines, who struck out eight, had a no-hitter going until the sixth inning. He settled for a two-hitter.

Brewton 12, Atmore 2
After Brewton and Atmore split two games in district competition, Brewton claimed the rubber match with a 12-2, six-inning victory at the Area Tournament.
Up just 2-1 after two innings, Brewton pulled away in the top of the third inning with a six-run rally.
Jared Cooper had a single and two doubles, while Matt Hamric and Tanner Shehan and Becker Denton all had two hits to pace a 13-hit attack.
Allen Williams scattered seven hits for the victory.
Brewton 3,
Covington County 1
Brewton had the luxury of having two games to win one for its championship encounter with Covington County. Brewton made sure a second game would not be necessary with the 3-1 win.
Mackie Jackson overcame eight walks with just two hits allowed over five and one-third innings before Baxley Raines closed the door with five consecutive strikeouts to end the game.
Down 1-0, Brewton took the lead for good in the top of the fourth inning on an RBI single by Jared Cooper and a sacrifice fly by Jackson.
