Joyce Kirby Lowery, 36, of Ridge Road, died early Thursday morning as a result of a motorcycle accident off of Thomas Road.
According to Lt. Mike Lambert with the Escambia County Sheriff's Office, Lowery and her husband Jeremy Shane Lowery, 32, missed a turn on Thomas Lane and collided with a pipe gate at the entrance to a hunting camp on Fountain Lane.
The Sheriff's Office responded to a 911 call at about 1:30 a.m. Thursday morning. Both victims were transported to D.W. McMillan Memorial Hospital, where Joyce Lowery was pronounced dead on arrival. Jeremy Shane Lowery was treated at the hospital, but his injuries were not life-threatening, Lambert said.
Joyce Lowery's body was transported to the Alabama Department of Forensic Science in Mobile for an autopsy.
Brewton Police, East Brewton Police and the Escambia County Rescue Squad assisted the Sheriff's Office at the scene.
The accident is still under investigation.
