Bernie Raines has qualified to be a candidate for mayor of East Brewton. The job is not new to him as he served as mayor from 1988 to 1992. He has lived in East Brewton for the past 35 years. He is a former high school principal and former engineer in the oil field. He is married to Edith Baxley Raines and they have four children, Shannon, Starla, Baxley and Shea, and he is grandfather to seven.
