Mr. James Branton Sasser, 81, died Monday, Aug. 30, 2004, at a Mobile hospital. He was a native of Pike County, a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy, and a retired U.S. Postal service clerk.
He is survived by his wife, Charlene Sasser of Evergreen; daughters, Maureen Bush of Brewton, Sherry Johnson of Evergreen, and Mary Janet Baker of Castleberry; a brother, Carlton Sasser of Derby, Kan., and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Sept. 1, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cope Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 2, at 11 a.m. at Evergreen United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Pierce officiating. Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery with Cope Funeral Home directing.
