Advance tickets for Friday's T.R. Miller-Dale County football game at Brewton Municpal Stadium can be purchased at Pic-N-Sav, Endzone, Weaver's, Todd's, Brewton Medical Center Pharmacy, Brewton Middle School and T.R. Miller High School at a cost of $5. Tickets will be $6 at the gate.
Reserved seats are still available and can be purchased at the T.R. Miller High School office.
Former T.R. Miller Tiger running back Rayvon Howard rushed for 117 yards and scored two touchdowns to lead the Carson-Newman Eagles to a victory over Winston-Salem State in their season opener August 28. Howard had minimal work Saturday when Carson-Newman beat West Georgia 38-24, as he had 14 yards rushing on only four carries.
Howard was the Class 4A Back of the Year in 2002 when he helped lead the Tigers to a state championship.
The W.S. Neal Blue Eagles basketball team has added a home and away series with Georgiana for the upcoming season.
In fact, W.S. Neal will now open the season with a home date against Georgiana on November 22 at 5 p.m. The Blue Eagles will return the favor and travel to Georgiana on January 18 with a 4:30 p.m. start time.
W.S. Neal has also changed the date of its home contest against Frisco City to January 31 at 5 p.m. That game had originally been slated to be played December 6.
One noticeable gap on the W.S. Neal schedule is on the girls side where the Lady Blue Eagles will have a three-week layoff during the holidays. W.S. Neal's last game before the break is December 17 at UMS-Wright. The W.S. Neal girls will not play again until January 7 with an Area 1 game at Clarke County.
