Labor Day 'Click-it or Ticket' leads to issue of 133 tickets

On Monday, Sept. 6, the Escambia County Sheriff's Office concluded its "Click-it or Ticket" enforcement.
According to Major Mike Murphy, the 11-day enforcement began on Aug. 27.
The following tickets were issued from Aug. 27 to Sept. 6: no seat belt -- 46; no insurance -- 4; speeding -- 64; suspended/revoked license -- 6; open container -- 2; expired tag -- 1; improper lights -- 1; and misdemeanor warrants served -- 9.
In addition to the 133 tickets issued, 88 warning tickets were issued for a variety of violations. Deputies also assisted 20 motorists, performed two special details, conducted two child seat inspections, and answered one domestic call and one wreck call. All funding that covered the enforcement was provided by the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs through the "Click-it or Ticket" grant administered by the Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan.
