Long-time members agreed this week that First Baptist Church of Brewton has been an important part of their lives.
The church, which began in the home of Aaron Lovelace on Sep. 17, 1854, in the area now known as Alco, will mark its 150th anniversary this Sunday.
Annie Ruth Nolin moved her letter of membership to the church in 1940 and has been a member for 64 years. She said she has many fond memories of attending church services and events over the years.
Sybil Mitchell agreed.
Associate Pastor Ron Headley said that the church has been part of his family for 14 years.
