Mrs. Ruth Riley, 77, died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2004, at a Mobile nursing facility. She was a native of Brewton and had been a resident of Mobile for the past 60 years. She had been employed with Gayfer's and Dillard's department stores for a number of years. She was a member of Kingswood United Methodist Church and a past queen of The Daughters of the Nile.
She is survived by a son, Rod Riley of Tuscaloosa; a daughter, Patty Sharpe of Mobile; three brothers, Nelson Dantzler of Brewton, Andrew Dantzler of Gentry, Ark. and Doyle Dantzler of Jackson, Miss.; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 17, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Craver's Funeral Home and burial followed at Green Acres Memorial Gardens with Craver's Funeral Home directing.
