Mr. Henry Williams, 100, died Thursday, Sept. 2, 2004. He was a native of Hope Hull and had been a resident of Selma before coming to Brewton in 1993. He was a member of Second Shady Grove Church where he served as a deacon.
He is survived by his wife, Katie Williams of Brewton; six daughters, Betty Carter of Pensacola, Fla., Rosie Jackson of Montgomery, Jackie Washington of Houston, Texas, Rosetta Austin of Benton Harbor, Mich., and Carrie Peterson and Mary Jackson, both of Brewton; two sons, Robert Williams of Seattle, Wash., and Levon Jones of Pensacola; three sisters, Bearnice Williams of Saginaw, Mich., Earnestine Williams of Los Angeles, Calif., and Ellen Lamb of Montgomery, Eddie O. Williams of Montgomery and Willie Williams of Saginaw, Mich., and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 8, at 2 p.m. at Second Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. H.B. King officiating. Burial followed at Shady Grove Cemetery with Presley-Fluker Funeral Home directing.
