Alabama Power expected to have power restored to 99 percent of its Brewton customers today, and at noon on Saturday, Southern Pine Electric Cooperative had power restored to 75 percent of its customers.
Local Alabama Power manager Danny D'Andrea said early Saturday afternoon that 97.2 percent of the customers in the Brewton area had power.
Southern Pine spokesperson Melanie Harrison said the cooperative was not providing estimated completion times for total restoration.
Southern Pine was not projecting when the power would be fully restored.
Both Harrison and D'Andrea expressed their appreciation for the kindnesses shown to crews.
David Gibbs, operations supervisor for Alabama Power's Birmingham division, came to Brewton last Monday, after power had been restored in Birmingham.
Both companies said residents who do not have power when their neighbors do should report the problems to the company.
