Irvington man dies in Brewton during clean up

Tuesday morning a man was killed in Brewton when he fell through the roof of the building he was working to clean up.
According to the chief, the deceased, Randy D. Higgins, 32, of Irvington, Ala., died as a result of a fall at the old Firestone building on Douglas Avenue on Tuesday, Sept. 28.
Dockside Demolition out of Mobile was tearing the building down at 912 Douglas Avenue.
According to Brewton Police, Higgins, who worked for Dockside, fell through the roof onto the concrete below, causing head and back injuries.
He was transported to D.W. McMillan Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead, the police chief said.
