Church's contributions felt close to home

I would like to take the opportunity to thank the people of First Baptist Church in Brewton. I noticed a sign in front of your church recently thanking your congregation for giving to the Baptist Children's Home. It caught my eye because my husband and I are foster parents for Baptist Children's Home.
I'm sure your congregation did not realize that their efforts would actually come back to help people in their own backyard in the weeks to follow.
Baptist Children's Home turned out to be such a blessing to our family after the storm. They provided a place in Mobile with electricity, hot showers and a kitchen for my family, including my parents and my sister's family. They even had a hot meal ready for us when we arrived. My husband has worked 16-18 hour days since the storm as a deputy helping this community. My sister's husband has worked long hours with Brewton's water and gas department. Baptist Children's home made sure that we were taken care of to give our husbands the peace of mind to help our community.
Thanks so much to the people of First Baptist for all of your hard work. I would also like to thank the many relief workers for all they have done. I especially know how hard everyone at the Sheriff's Department has worked. We are truly blessed to be members of such a caring community.
Sincerely,
Tammy McMullen
