Escambia County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) director David Jennings would like to caution the people of this county against scammers who claim to work for FEMA and ask for money to do home inspections. The scam artists may visit a residence and claim that there is a fee for FEMA to inspect damages to a home.
Jennings said he has been made aware of a few cases of this happening in the area and would like for people to understand that legitimate FEMA representatives will never charge residents for an inspection.
