Mrs. Doris Evelyn Segrest, 81, died Saturday, Oct. 16, 2004, at her residence. She was a native of Conecuh County and a long-time resident of Brewton. She was a member of Catawba Springs Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Robert W. "Bob" Segrest of Brewton; one son, Ronald Moye of Damascus; three daughters, Betty Flarthy of Jasper, Texas, Virginia Stearns of Evergreen and Barbara Hope of South Carolina; one brother, Levi Kirkland of Irvington; five sisters, Viola Bell and Wilma Culp, both of Mobile, Mary Smith of Brewton, Glenda Barnes of Opelika, and Thelma Jernigan of Grand Bay; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 19, at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Craver's Funeral Home with the Rev. Grady Palmer officiating. Burial followed at Catawba Cemetery with Craver's Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were her grandchildren, Brian Moye, Danny Moye, Shaun Moye, Jonathan Qualls, Whitney Qualls and Chad Wiggins. Honorary pallbearers were Levi Kirkland and Bill Culp.
