Mrs. Jessie Mae Covin, 84, died Thursday, Oct. 21, 2004, at a local hospital. She was a native of Lyeffion and a long time resident of Brewton. She had worked as a sales clerk for Sherer Brothers Department Store and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Brewton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Elbert Covin Jr.; a son, Alvin Ray Covin and a daughter, Joyce Covin Ward.
She is survived by three brothers, Carl Burt of Pensacola, Melvin Burt of Mobile and Ray Burt of Medford, Ore., and 11 grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at First United Methodist Church Monday, Oct. 25, from 1 p.m until services at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Gary Daniel officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery with Craver's Funeral Home directing. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Associating or The Alzheimer's Association.
