Dear Editor,
I'm writing to ask for your support. I know you realize that the storm changed the circumstances for many families.
That's why it's more important than ever to support the annual Christmas Project.
Every year for the last 19 years, this community has shopped for and distributed new clothes and toys for less fortunate children up to the age of 14 and special gifts for low-income elderly. The Kiwanis Club takes some of the children on our list shopping, as does the Sportsman's Club. Other people have taken an "angel" from one of the bank displays and bought toys.
We are proud of what we have been able to accomplish but we know that the needs have increased this year.
If you've never taken the time to contribute to this project, don't wait another day. Your contribution can make such a difference!
Send your donation to The Christmas Project, 1012 Douglas Avenue, Brewton. You can also call 867-3224 and offer to sponsor a child or elderly person directly. Angels will be available at local banks around Thanksgiving. All the funds we receive are spent locally. Help make someone's Christmas a truly memorable event.
Sincerely,
Stephanie Walker
