Thursday, Nov. 4 at about 2 p.m., 22-year-old Crystal Crosby, white female of Wiggins Road in Frisco City, escaped from the custody of the Escambia County Detention Center.
Crosby is pregnant, and on Thursday she allegedly faked an injury -- claiming to have fallen off the bed.
She was then transported by ambulance to D.W. McMillan Memorial Hospital, according to Major Mike Murphy with the Escambia County Sheriff's Office.
Once at the hospital, Crosby went outside while the detention center nurse spoke with a doctor, Murphy said.
Crosby got into a vehicle with two black females, and left the hospital.
The three women then traveled to Monroe County.
Monroe County deputies apprehended Crosby at about 2:45 p.m., and she was returned to the custody of the Escambia County Sheriff's Office.
Murphy said before her escape, Crosby was being held in the Escambia County jail on a charge of theft of property, second degree and a violation of probation in Monroe County.
She now faces an additional charge of escape, second degree, Murphy said.
