Hot meals, fellowship, and less loneliness.
That's what United Fund of Brewton and East Brewton helps the Escambia County Mental Health Association provide.
Board member Emmie Jernigan said her organization does not receive money from state agencies, but manages to provide lots of services.
The organization also delivers lunches to the elderly through its Meals on Wheels program.
The organization also provides counseling services for youths who are referred by a pediatrician or school counselor and have no other means with which to access counseling.
United Fund asks citizens to contribute the equivalent of one hour's wages each month to local charities. Donations may be mailed to United Fund of Brewton and East Brewton, P.O. Box 34, Brewton, AL 36427.
