Mr. Clyde Edward Johnson, 76, died Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2004, at a Pensacola hospital. He was a native and life-time resident of Century. He attended the Baptist church and was a member of the Masons. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Jean Johnson; a son, Ricky Hendrix and a sister, Margarite Harold.
He is survived by a friend, Burnette Prim of Century; five sons, Tim Johnson of Cantonment, Fla., Jim Johnson of Flomaton, Lamar Hendrix of Byrneville, Fla., Terry Hendrix of Festus, Mo., and Lavon Hendrix of Little Washington, N.C.; three daughters, Jeannine Moye of Atmore, Linda Kay Zimlich of Bay Minette and Ruby White of Flomaton; three brothers, Bobby Johnson of Lenox, Earl Johnson of Brewton and Melvin Johnson of Jay, Fla.; 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 19, at 11 a.m. at Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Mitch Herring officiating. Burial followed at McCurdy Cemetery with Eastside Chapel Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Jason White, James Floyd, Josh Hendrix, Ricky Rutherford, Spencer Harris, Tommy Kimmons and Jack Johnson. Honorary pallbearers were Masons.
