Rev. Monsignor Michael J. "Father Mike" McGuinness, 78, died Thursday, Nov. 25, 2004, in Ireland.
He served more than 50 years as a Catholic priest in Alabama and northwest Florida, including two tenures, totaling 19 years, as pastor of St. Maurice Catholic Church in Brewton. He has been living and working in a small parish in Kilmore, Carrick-on-Shannon, County Roscommon, Ireland.
He is survived by a brother, a sister, many nieces, nephews, and other relatives in Ireland.
The Mass of Christian Burial will take place Monday, Nov. 29, 2004.
