The Department of Public Safety's driver license issuance system is out of service due to technical problems that surfaced Monday, Nov. 29. Driver License Division staff have been working to correct these problems and anticipate that full services will be restored by Dec. 10.
While the system is down, no driver licenses may be issued; however, license reinstatement services are unaffected, and copies of driver records and wreck reports may still be obtained.
A new, state-of-the-art driver license issuance system, slated for installation in early 2005, is expected to eliminate such technical difficulties in the future.
