Laura Louise Odom, 68, died Friday, Dec. 3, 2004, at a Pensacola hospital. She was a native of Evergreen and a resident of Flomaton for many years. She was a member of Damascus Baptist Church of Flomaton and had worked as a restaurant cook for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Harvey J. Odom, a daughter, Julia L. Odom and a sister, Willie P. Straughn.
She is survived by five daughters, Gloria M. Barnes, Latasha Odom and Kameitha Odom, all of Flomaton, Linda Jackson of Atmore and Rhonda Brooks of Cantonment, Fla.; five sons, Willie J. McPherson and the Rev. Harvey Odom of Flomaton, Anthony Odom of Pollard, Timothy Odom of Montgomery and Gil Odom of Pensacola; one step-son, Dewayne Williams of Evergreen; one brother, Gus McPherson Jr. of Evergreen; 25 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 7, at 11 a.m. at Damascus Baptist Church at Flomaton with the Rev. Henry Hawkins officiating. Burial followed at the Fannie/Damascus Cemetery with Turner Funeral Chapel Funeral Home directing.
