Mr. Donnie Macks, 52, died Monday, Dec. 13, 2004, at a Pensacola hospital. He was a native and lifelong resident of Century. He attended Bluff Springs Holiness Church. He was an employee of the Alabama Department of Corrections, Fountain K-9 Unit for 20 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard O. Macks.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Pearl Macks of Century; a son, Don Wesley Macks of Jay, Fla.; a daughter, Wendy Jean Merchant of Flomaton; his mother and step-father, Helen and Dirk Spence of Walnut Hill, Fla.; five brothers, Leonard A. Macks, Lavon Macks, Joe Eddie Macks and Tommy Macks, all of Century and Ronnie Macks of Pensacola; six grandchildren and a special friend, Ray Radford of Pensacola.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 16, at 2 p.m. at Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Ray Hudson officiating. Burial followed at Beulah Chapel Cemetery with Eastside Chapel Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were guards from the Alabama Department of Corrections.
