Mrs. Queen Ester Harrison, 86, died Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004. She was a native of Munson, Fla., and a resident of Brewton for most of her life. She was an active member of Baptist Hill Missionary Baptist Church and a member of the Grand Lodge International Benevolent Society. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Harrison; her sister, Annie Bell Askew and four brothers, Oscar Gant, Jessie Gant, Henry Gant and Julius Gant.
She is survived by five children, Mary Hamel of Sunnyvale, Calif., Joann Harrison and Becky McCreary, both of Brewton, Vera Lovelace of Palo Alto, Calif., and Mack Harrison of Jacksonville, Fla.; sisters, Symathia Parker and Emma Dennis, both of Pensacola, Fla., and Bessie Presley of San Diego, Calif.; brothers, Samuel Gant, Bueary Gant and James Gant, all of Pensacola; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. at Baptist Hill Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. S.C. Tucker officiating. Burial followed at Baptist Hill Cemetery with Presley-Fluker Funeral Home directing.
