Betty Jean Black Archer died Dec. 29, 2004, after a brief illness.
Mrs. Archer was a native of East Brewton and had resided in Milton, Fla., for the past 15 years. She retired from the Department of Human Resources in Brewton and was a lifelong member of Cedar Hill United Methodist Church in East Brewton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Ebbin (Fannie) Black of Brewton.
She is survived by four children, Cynthia Archer Antonelli (Rev. Tony) of Semmes, Ala., Dale Archer of East Brewton, David Archer (Tina Busby) of Milton, and Sylvia Archer Craft of Alaska; three sisters, Mrs. Doris Black Bruner of East Brewton, Mrs. Dorothy Black Eby of Pensacola, and Mrs. Sharon Black Moran (Al) of Milton; eight grandchildren, Lyndsie Kirk, Amber Archer, Caleb Archer, Anthony and Rebekah Antonelli, Dylan, Amber and Brandon Craft; and one great-grandchild, Taylor Kirk; and many special nieces and nephews.
Services will be held today, Sunday, Jan. 2, 2005, at 3 p.m. from the chapel of Craver's Funeral Home with the Rev. Doug Seymour and the Rev. Tony Antonelli officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Crawford Cemetery.
Visitation was held at Craver's Funeral Home on Saturday.
