Francis R. Burgess, 79 died Wednesday, Dec. 29, in a Mobile area hospital.
He was a former resident of East Brewton and was a resident of Bay Minette at the time of his death. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Army Air Force. He owned and operated Mr. B's Quick Burger Drive-In, in Brewton, for a number of years. He attended First United Methodist Church in East Brewton.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Annie R. Burgess of Horseneck, Ala.; two sons, Mark Burgess of Monroeville, and Richard Burgess of Horseneck; two daughters, Gloria Dawn Fowler of Horseneck, Ala., and Crystal Flippos of Wetumpka; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services were held Friday, Dec. 31, 2004, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Craver's Funeral Home with the Rev. David Taylor officiating. Interment followed in Ft. Crawford Cemetery, Cravers Funeral home directing.
