Today, Sunday, Jan. 2, 2005, marks the last day Escambia County residents can place Hurricane Ivan-related debris at the curbside for removal by FEMA and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
The Corps is scheduled to begin its last pass through the county tomorrow, Monday, Jan. 3.
FEMA officials stressed two weeks ago that Christmas trees should not be added to the debris piles, adding that the Corps would not pick up storm debris piles that include current items like Christmas trees and wrapping paper.
