John Calvin Travis, age 83, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2004, at a local hospital. Mr. Travis was a native of Escambia County, Ala., and was an elder in the Community of Christ Church.
He is survived by four daughters, Linda Kay Singleton of Marietta, Ga., Elizabeth Ann Salter, Kathy Kirby and Debi Steadman, all of East Brewton; two sisters, Cora Durden of Alpharetta, Ga.., and Lynn Wixon of Milton, Fla.; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services were held on Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, at 1 p.m. from the Chapel of Craver's Funeral Home with Elder Wayne Morris and Elder Ed Ward officiating. Interment followed in Fort Crawford Cemetery, with Craver's Funeral Home directing.
