Two area men were charged with possession of controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia last Thursday afternoon after they were found with large quantities of crack cocaine.
Jeremy Collins, 28, of Pitts Street in Brewton and Morris Andrew "Andy" Cumbie, 23, of Memory Lane in Brewton, were charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Sheriff's Investigators had been looking for Collins to serve him with four misdemeanor arrest warrants for menacing and third degree assault when Collins was located sitting in a car parked at his residence on Pitts Street in the Springhill Community. Also in the car was Andy Cumbie. Earlier that same day, a theft of property 3rd degree warrant had been issued for Cumbie for stealing money earlier in the year.
When Collins and Morris were spotted, Capt. Chuck McMullen, Sgt. Monte McGougin, and Investigator Jeff Beasley arrested both of the subjects.
Collins' car was searched and digital scale which investigators believe was used to weigh out illegal drugs was found.
Both men were transported to the Escambia County Detention Center where they await a bond hearing.
