Graveside services for Zula Blackmon Mathews of Repton were held Monday, Jan. 17, 2005, at 11 a.m. at Hartwood Methodist Church Cemetery in Range with the Rev. Bobby Boatwright officiating and Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Mathews, 91, died Jan. 14, 2005, in a local nursing facility. She was preceded in death by her husbands, William Lee Blackmon and C.J. Mathews; a son, Gerald Blackmon and three grandchildren, Authur Blackmon, Chesley Blackmon Jr. and Michael Mayo.
She is survived by three sons, Mack (Elizabeth) Blackmon and William (Deborah) Blackmon, both of Range and Chesley (Willie Mae) Blackmon of Brewton; five daughters, Gladys (Gene) Aycock of Brewton, Faye (Munsie) Hammack and Margie Mayo, both of Range, Dianne (Eddie) Kendrick of Macon, Ga., and Brenda (Doug) Desterlie of Saucer, Miss.; one sister, Ethel Bardin of Pensacola, Fla.; 22 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
