Mrs. Lois M. Oliver, 77, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2005, at her residence after a brief illness. She was a native of Evansville, Ind., a long time resident of Brewton and a resident of Milton for the past 18 years. She was retired from Container Corporation and was an active member of Bagdad United Methodist Church and church choir. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Oliver; her parents, Herbert and Hazel Lipking; her sisters, Dorothy Endress, June Anderson, Fern Herbert and Norma Smith.
She is survived by three sons, Charles "Chip" (Judy) Reid, Frank (Sandra) Reid and Bruce Reid; two daughters, Sheila Allison and Deborah Reid (A.J.) Bush; three step-sons, James Oliver, Leon Oliver and Gene Oliver; seven grandchildren; 16 step-grandchildren; and special friends, Barbara Baker and Jean and J.C. Branch.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Jan. 20, at 10 a.m. at the chapel of the Donnie Sowell Funeral Home in Milton with the Rev. Gary Jones officiating. Burial with graveside services were held at 3 p.m. at Green Acres Cemetery in Brewton with Donnie Sowell Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were J.C. Branch, Gregory Thorsen, Marty Kenny, Lamar Whitaker, Ryan Bitely and Ray Videtich.
