Mrs. Estelle Northrop Leahey, 87, died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2005. She was a native of Irvington, N.Y., and a resident of Century, Fla. before moving to Freeport. She was a veteran of World War II and active in civic and religious matters. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Leahey and a brother, John Northrop.
She is survived by her son, Jack (Sha) Leahey of Plymouth, Minn.; two brothers, Clyde Northrop Jr. of Flomaton and Arthur Northrop of West Palm Beach, Fla.; a sister, Hazel (Howard) Waters of Bushnell, Fla., and two grandchildren, Katelyn and Meghan Leahey of Plymouth, Minn.
Funeral services will be held Jan. 29, at 10:30 a.m. from Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Clyde Northrop III officiating. Burial will be in the Flomaton Cemetery with Flomaton Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Memorials may be made to a local hospice or the American Lung Association.
