Mr. James L. Moye, 85, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2005, at a local hospital. He was a native of Moyeville, a resident of Atmore for the past 47 years and retired from the Alabama State Road Department after 30 years service. He attended Westside Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Grace Moye, and a son, Palma Deron Moye.
He is survived by two sons, Kendrell (Sonya) Moye of Canoe. and Dennis (Linda) Moye of Nokomis; three daughters, Dorothy (Leon) Taylor and Margie Shipp, both of Atmore, and Shirley (Hal) Nesbitt of Mobile; two sisters, Mary Roberson of Flomaton and Lucille Roberson of Pensacola; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 1, at 2 p.m. at Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Gladdin Mothershed and the Rev. Leon Lyles officiating.
Burial followed at Miller Cemetery with Eastside directing. Pallbearers were Koty Crews, Tem Moye, J.C. Moye, Aubrey Roberson, Sam Lee and Johnny Burkett. Honorary pallbearer was Rex McGough.
