Mr. Phillip J. Melton Jr., 58, died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005, in a Pensacola, Fla. hospital. He was a member of the Milton community for 56 years, coming from Brewton. He had worked for Melton Construction and was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa M. Melton of Milton; three sons, Phillip J. Melton III, Charles A. (Janice) Melton, and Kevin M. Melton, all of Milton; one daughter, Jennifer J. Melton of Milton; two brothers, George Eddie Melton, and Wilbur "Pete" (Angela) Melton, both of Milton; one sister, Helen (D.C.) McCombs of Milton, and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 1, at 2 p.m. at Craver's Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mayeaux Brake officiating. Burial followed at Hanberry Cemetery with Craver's Funeral Home directing.
