James Richard "Dickie" Dole

Mr. James Richard "Dickie" Dole, 69, died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2005, at a Florida hospital. He was a native and lifetime resident of Century, a member of Century Historical Society and a meat cutter at B &J Meat Company in Byrneville for 15 years. He attended the Baptist church and was preceded in death by his father, J. B. Dole; a son, Farron Davis and a brother, Edwin Dole.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Dole of Century; a son, Kenny (Patricia) Davis of Bay Minette; a daughter, Carrie (Kevin) Bryan of Byrneville; his mother, Eva Dole of Century; a brother, Billy Dole of Century; a sister, Myra Jean (Charles) Steadham of Atmore; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 3, at 2 p.m. at Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Shelton Kindig and the Rev. Brad Johnson officiating. Burial followed at Godwin Cemetery with Eastside Chapel Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Thomas Adams, Jerry Simmons, Jerry Fischer, Eric Steadham, Arlin Levins and Ron Gilley. Honorary pallbearers were David Earl and Ronnie Gilley.
