The Alabama Historical Commission has awarded a $38,000 grant to the Jefferson Davis Junior College for research and archaeological study of two important early military sites in Escambia County - the battle of Burnt Corn Creek and Fort Crawford.
Dr. David Mathews, president of the University of Alabama and state chairman of the March of Dimes, challenged are residents to improve the state's infant mortality statistics by supporting March of Dimes.
Tom Salter and bobby Taylor, Brewton students at Troy State University, are in the cast of "The Raiunmaker," TSU's annual dinner theatre production.
Cecil Rainey, a close personal friend of Republican presidential candidate George Bush, will be a special guest speaker at Jefferson Davis State Junior College Wednesday.
