Mr. Clayton Byrnes Butts, 71, died Monday, Feb. 7, 2005, in a local hospital after an extended illness. He was a native and life long resident of the Bethel community. He attended McClellan Assembly of God Church and was a retired mechanic from Escambia County School System. He was preceded in death by his wife, Olyne Butts, and a grandson, Jason Butts.
He is survived by a son, Jeff (Deborah) Butts of Brewton; two daughters, Vivian (Steve) Butts and Paula (Kevin) Butts, both of Brewton; a brother, Ralph Butts of Kansas; a sister, Katheryn Fuqua of Brewton; one grandson; one step-grandson and one step great-grandson.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 10, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Roy Skidmore officiating. Burial followed at McLellan Cemetery, in McClellan, Fla., with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
