Some might call it a refresher course. Others might call a conditioning course.
The official name is actually the T.R. Miller Tigers football team's annual two weeks of spring practice.
T.R. Miller began practice Tuesday and will cap off the spring workouts with its annual Red/White Game this coming Friday at Brewton Municipal Stadium. Game time is 3:45 p.m. No admission will be charged.
While some programs wait until later in the spring to practice, Riggs said now is probably the best time for his program.
The T.R. Miller skipper said these two weeks is a time where some players can make a big jump on the depth chart.
The Tigers will return most of their starting lineup next year, especially in the skill position spots. Riggs said that is a big plus going into spring practice.
As far as the eighth graders who are participating, Riggs said these two weeks are a chance to get them acclimated to the program.
