Have you had your blood pressure or cholesterol checked lately? Have you experienced a unique way to destress your body or know what heart healthy snacks to eat? We have the answer!
Mark your calendar and make plans to join all of Brewton and the surrounding areas for the annual FitFest program set for Tuesday, Feb. 24 beginning at 7:30 a.m. in Education Center of D. W. McMillan Hospital. Please note the change in location from previous years.
Several community services and health care professionals will unite to present a dynamic health program. Come out and get your FREE cholesterol, blood pressure and sugar screenings. Please be sure to FAST - which simply means not eating food after midnight. Fasting is highly recommended for accurate results from your screenings and tests.
Other programs offered on Thursday morning include a timely discussion on "Cardiology Updates for 2005" by Leslie Estes-Smith, director of HeartFirst, Baptist Hospital and learn how to become the best you can be with "Fitness Day-by-Day" by Theresa Scott, Fitness Coordinator of the Brewton Area YMCA.
Prepare to win door prizes, enjoy heart healthy refreshments, learn new information and the chance to have fun and fellowship with your friends. This FREE service to Brewton and surrounding areas is sponsored by the Alabama Cooperative Extension System in partnership with the Brewton Area YMCA and D.W. McMillan Hospital.
