A head-on collision occurred Thursday morning on Highway 31. One passenger was taken to the hospital.
Pam Steadman, 38, of Flomaton was driving a 2000 Ford Ranger Pickup truck.
Michael Odom, 38, of Flomaton was driving a 1989 MACK Tanker Truck.
According to officials, Steadman was heading north on Highway 31 and collided with Odom, who was heading south on Highway 31.
Officer Ray Skipper was the first to arrive on the scene. According to police officials, Steadman was approximately six months pregnant and was driving alone.
According to Sgt. Eric Suarez, Steadman may have lost control of her vehicle and swerved into the 18-wheeler.
Steadman was taken to the D.W. McMillan Hospital, where her baby died, Suarez said.
Officials said the driver of the 18-wheeler was a little shaken after the accident.
Rain, causing slippery conditions, may have been a factor in the accident, officials said.
